Coming from an atheist perspective, I think going from Judaism to Christianity is a downgrade in almost every conceivable way. The Jews I met have all been more intelligent, more moral, more capable, more expert, and more kind than every Christian I have met. I have confirmed with the Jews that I met that Judaism teaches that Jews have a responsibility to help all of humanity -- not "spiritually" (by making them Jews), but materially (to encourage peace, fair dealings, medicine, proper law, et cetera). Jews are taught to "heal the world", as they put it, as a religious practice. It's why Jews have a higher per capita number of doctors and scientists than any other ethnic or religious group.
