Because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. (Christ - John 8:45)

What is truth? (Pilate - John 18:38)

Because of the noetic effects of sin, we must use the gospel as a battering ram to break through the calcified minds of unbelievers and the muddle-headed minds of wishy-washy Christians as well. No one can be argued into the kingdom ultimately; nonetheless, our vocation as thinking Christians requires clear, precise, reasonable, and intellectually honest communication about the gospel and its grounding in real history, supported by real artifacts, and verified by real eye witnesses without glaucoma.

The anti-intellectual culture in which we live is having a huge impact on the way we think (feel?) and express ourselves by stripping grammar, logic & rhetoric of all meaning and importance. Critical thinking is the cure and Shane, once again, does an admirable job of examining Scriptural, historical, and linguistic support for understanding the tenets of the faith in which we stake our lives, both now and the hereafter.
